Learning the Ropes

October 11th, 2008 by admin

I still can’t figure out how to do the Shibari myself but luckily…

I just spent a wonderful weekend in San Francisco at YaoiCon where I met up with a few great authors, including Ally Blue, Kimberly Gardner, JL Langley, Laura Baumbach, Jet Mykles, Luisa Prieto and my evil twin, James Buchanan! I brought a few of the boys along with me and James immediately offered to show me the ropes, so to speak… and…

Rick immediately volunteered for the job.

Shibari

August 19th, 2008 by Stephanie

Since Jade was good enough to show me how to make toys, in the spirit of quid pro quo I’d like to offer a brief visual tutorial on the style of Japanese rope bondage known as karada shibari.

Coop (Lt. Col. Cooper Anderson, USAF) served several tours of duty in southeast Asia, where he learned the basic, and some of the not-so-basic, methods of tying up his boys. Here, he’s demonstrating a versatile tie that can be modified in any number of interesting ways.

Steps 1 & 2
Here, he’s doubled an approximately 36′ nylon rope and tied four knots in it, the first mid-sternum (just above the xyphoid process) and the lowest just above the pubic bone. The amount of rope needed is about 6:1 length-to-height ratio to the person being bound.

Step 3
Both ends go in between the legs, under the torso and back up between the butt cheeks, up over the spine and through the neck loop. Additional knots can be tied in the back, placed to allow the insertion of butt plugs or dildos, but Coop hasn’t done that here.

Step 4
Coop then splits the ends and brings them down along either side of Jase’s body parallel to the spine. Throughout the process, Coop is continually adjusting the tension of the ropes and the placement of the knots. Jase enjoys the feeling of being bound, but Coop is careful never to make the ropes so tight that Jase’s circulation is compromised.

Step 5
Coop brings the rope around Jase’s torso and through the neck loop, above the first knot. He takes the rope to the back and either ties them to the center line ropes or simply crosses them around to the front on the opposite side, and brings them through the next opening between knots. He repeats winding the rope between the knots, all the way down the body.

Step 6
Coop repeats the process again and again, until Jase’s torso is entirely bound in rope.  With a longer rope, Coop could bind Jase’s legs, or bind the legs to the body.  Here he’s contemplating whether to tie Jase’s arms, or leave them free.  With his arms free, Jase can even wear the harness under his clothing.

Now, with Jase nicely restrained, Coop can begin to play.

Look behind the cut to see some of Coop and Jase’s play. Please note that if you’re bothered by semi-explicit, hot doll-on-doll action, best stop here.

Toys!

August 14th, 2008 by admin

Okay, so I’ve had a few questions about the various sex toys my boys play with. They are lucky enough right now to have a few GI Joe sized plugs, dildos, packers and beads… so how did they get them??

Simple… I made them! And by the end of this post, you too should be able to recreate your very own “lifesize” sex toy for your boys!

So, let’s get started. In order to make the toys I do, you will need some type of polymer clay, a variety of tools for shaping purposes, and some kind of model to base your toys off of. You don’t necessarily need a butt plug sitting in front of you, but it does help to be able to get the sizing right. Trust me, my first plug was waaaaay too small. If your toy fits in your hand, the little one should fit in Joe’s in exactly the same way.

Today, I’m going to show you how I make up two of my toys, a basic plug and a realistic dildo.

Butt Plug

I’ve already made up the plug on the left, to show you what the clump of clay on the right is eventually going to look like. For anyone who hasn’t worked with polymer clay before, you’ll want to tear off a piece of clay and press it back and forth between your fingers to soften it up before you try to work with it.

Your first step is to shape the clay into a basic tapered shape.

Near the base of the clay you’re going to start pinching it in. It helps to do this with your fingers first, and then with a shaping tool. I’m using a small metal file below because I love the size of it. I think the most important thing to remember is that you want it to be smooth in the end. No rough edges, no sharp corners unless that’s the look you want.

Dildo

In order to make sure my dildo was going to be realistic, I enlisted Big Joe to come in and act as the model. Rick needed to get an up close and personal look to make sure his little lump of clay would look right.

You’re first going to roll out your clay into a log.

If there are any men out there, this part may make you uncomfortable!! I use a craft knife to shape the glans of the dildo, pulling my knife along the shaft to lengthen it smoothly, and pressing up against the tip of my clay log to create a noticeable head.

Once you have your head shaped the way you want it, you’re going to bend the shaft of your log to form the balls. Play with them, using your knife or another tool if you’d prefer, to make sure you’re happy with the final shape of them. My last step is normally to run both the flat side and edge of my knife along the shaft and head to create a bit of texture. Rick likes this part :)

And here’s Rick with the finished product, showing you how big it is in relation to himself.

Once you have your toys shaped, you need to bake them in the oven to set the shapes. Below I have my two plugs, the realistic dildo and a little blue plug that I also made. The balls you see are going to be used to make a bracelet once they’re baked.

Set the oven and clock to whatever it says on the package of clay. For my clay, they had to go in the oven at 275 for 15 min. for every 1/4 inch of clay. As long as you follow the directions on the package, you’ll be fine. The plugs were a bit thicker than a 1/4 inch but not quite a 1/2 inch so I put them in for 25 minutes. You don’t want to overcook them, but the more toys you make the better you’ll be at timing it right.

In the meantime, the boys decided to pass the time while they waited for their toys to bake.

Once the clay has been baked and cooled, you’re ready to play!! Here are my finished products. The blue toy has a small crystal at the end of the plug so it’s nice and pretty when inserted :)

Have fun with your toys!! I would love to see your own attempts! Drop me a line at jade.buchanan@yahoo.com with pictures or any questions you have :)

New recruit

August 3rd, 2008 by Stephanie

My first time started innocently enough. I’d just written my first full-length novel, which happened to have a Navy SEAL as its hero. I wrote it as a goof for the regulars at Suzanne Brockmann’s reader board and an early beta-reader sent me a SEAL in a box as a combination joke and thank you. I took him out of the box, put most of his gear on him and set him on my headboard, where he sat gathering dust for too many months.

I don’t remember exactly when or how the second one came into the house. I have a vague sort of recollection of thinking my SEAL needed a change of clothes — all of that combat gear looked hot, not the good kind – and that I bought the second one primarily for the change of clothes it offered.   All I know for sure is that there were now two.

It was actually my husband who originally posed them in a lewd position. Although my first four or five books featured pretty traditional male-female pairings, by the time my husband posed the figures I was writing romances for two guys, so that was a natural.

That, as they say, is when things took a turn.

These days crew is up to four members and any trip to Target must now include a swing by the toy aisle, to see if any new outfits for Ken have come in. We’ve expanded the wardrobes quite a bit and are looking forward with great impatience to winter so that we can try out some of the great cool weather looks we’ve acquired. (I’m a total sucker for anything with a faux fur trim, it turns out.)

Since that first doll, I’ve become well acquainted with eBay’s action figure section, as well as some amazing on-line sites catering to the World War II buffs. Who knew there was this much stuff out there? Not me, certainly. I had no idea of the breadth of what’s available. Everything from historical Roman and Mongol figures to modern day military warriors and celebrities. Did you know that it’s now standard for TV shows like “Heroes” and “Lost” to have their own action figures? You can even buy Patrick Dempsey’s character from “Enchanted.”

This is all by way of a brief introduction; as much to say, “Hi, I’m here” as to look at the unconnected series of individual steps that brought me here. A special thanks to Mary, Jade and Maura for inviting me out to play. I’m looking forward to posting some stories and pictures that can really only be filed under the Jeopardy! heading, “You ought to be ashamed of yourself.” Next time I’d like to share a bit of what I’ve learned about what’s available out there, where to find it, and some maybe-not-so-common-sense approaches to plunging into the kinky world of action figure porn.

You’ve come a long way (Joe), baby.

FetishDollies

May 10th, 2008 by admin

While I initially started working with GI Joes to help me with my writing, I admit that over time they turned into a fun way to experiment and just be as crazy as I wanted to be.

Of course, I don’t think I’ll ever have the patience to set up the professional doll shots that I see others doing! Instead, I’m constantly on the lookout for artistic sites where I can go and admire what others do, and you can guarantee that there are a few of them bookmarked on my computer.

When I found the fetishdollies website, I just knew I had found a site I’m going to want to browse over and over again!!

Nancy Farmer has created a wonderfully kinky and funny set of photos that have me in stitches whenever I see them. Nancy is an painter and photographer and I’m in love with her general art (seriously, there’s a few of her paintings I’d give my left nut for… if I had a left nut of course) but her dolls are definitely unique. A lot of the props she’s made herself, and my poor butt-plug-making fingers are jealous of her skill with strap-ons! And yes, I can’t believe I wrote that sentence, LOL!

In honor of my birthday on Monday, here’s one of her horoscope photos… gotta love the Taurus!

If you want to see the rest of her fabulous artwork, and perhaps purchase a set of cards, go visit her here: http://www.fetishdollies.co.uk/ or at her art site: http://www.nancyfarmer.net/

Until next time!

The Boys Take a Trip

May 5th, 2008 by admin

demicon2008.jpg

Adrian, Mack, Sawyer, and Dean (left to right) took a trip this weekend to DemiCon to talk to people about their books. They happily sat on a tub behind my dealer’s table and cheerfully called out to people passing by. Responses varied from “Gay GI Joes?” and disbeliving glances to people who thought they were absolutely cool and loved the ideas. I hooked up with someone who is seriously into action figures and will be getting me links to lots of cool sites, including places to buy GI Joe sized bondage and BDSM gear. (Scary, I know…)

Sadly, as you can see in this picture, Mack is really favoring his torn wrist. On the way home, he lost his hand. He isn’t in a lot of pain, having discovered the joys of demerol, and the gentleman I met had plenty of GI Joes (he was hoping to meet the dealer from whom I had bought most of my guys, but she didn’t make it.) so we arranged a trade. I have body doubles now for Mack and Sawyer (as it is easier to swap heads than trade broken parts). Interestingly enough, Mack’s double looks exactly like Adrian.
